Welcome to the website of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Stockholm.  Very few would disagree with the assertion that no website is capable of giving visitors the same feelings and impressions that they would otherwise carry away from a trip to the vibrant, beautiful and rapidly developing country that I have the honour to represent. We therefore tried to make it useful from the practical point of view both for our fellow countrymen and for foreign nationals seeking to visit the Land of Fire or keen to find out more about it.

The information is presented in the format of concise and, hopefully, easily digestible overviews of the subjects concerned. To cater to the needs of our visitors with limited knowledge about Azerbaijan, we have covered areas of general interest such as economy, politics, historical background, as well as those aspects where queries usually arise, e.g. consular services. We shall always endeavour to address all your inquiries, as long as they do not imply writing coursework or dissertation, which some students would have found utterly convenient. Thus our visitors have two avenues open to them – they can either familiarize themselves with the synopsises prepared by the Embassy or use the links to access other selected sources for more detailed information on the issues in question.

No wonder that in terms of its composition, layout and content, this website might not remain in its present form. Changes cannot be excluded and new sections, covering other areas of interest, may be added as we identify the preferences of our visitors. It is only with your active involvement that we can make it what it is intended to be – a useful reference vehicle. 

The Consular page gives answers to the most frequently asked questions and provides an opportunity to express your opinion on the quality of services. I view this site as an interactive tool, which could enable us to be more efficient in our work. It should also be of practical use to our visitors and this can only be achieved through our attending to your needs and requirements and reacting to your comments and recommendations.
